What you need to know about CoolSlimming?

CoolSlimming is the brand name for a fat freezing method designed to remove stubborn fat from certain parts of the body. This method is called CoolSlimming. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved it in 2010. Scientists came up with the idea of CoolSlimming by studying changes in fat during frostbite. Fat freezes at higher temperatures than skin. A CoolSlimming device cools your fat to a temperature that destroys it, while leaving your skin and other tissues unharmed.

CoolSlimming is not surgery and does not use needles. The device holds the body part you want to lose fat between two cups. The cups cool quickly and your doctor leaves them in place for about 35 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes. During this time, the process destroys about 20%-25% of the fat cells in the targeted area. Final results may not be available for a few months, but you may start seeing some changes within a few weeks. During this time you should avoid CoolSlimming if you have:

    1. CoolSlimming should not be performed on obese or significantly overweight patients. Also, it should not be performed on areas of skin that have been cut or injured, contain severe varicose veins, dermatitis, or other skin lesions.

    2. Not suitable for people who are sensitive or intolerant to cold. This program is not recommended for people who:

    3. Raynaud’s phenomenon. In a rare condition, low temperatures can impede blood flow to the fingers and toes.

    4. Cryoglobulinemia. A type of vasculitis (inflammation of blood vessels) caused by an abnormal protein that becomes solid or gelatinous at low temperatures. It is associated with blocked blood vessels and other problems.

    5. Paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria. A very rare autoimmune disease in which red blood cells are damaged when exposed to cold.

    6. Cold urticaria. A rare condition in which red, itchy patches (hives) appear on the skin after exposure to cold temperatures.

    7. Cold agglutinin disease. A rare form of autoimmune hemolytic anemia in which the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys its own red blood cells. This condition is usually triggered or exacerbated by low temperatures.

    8. Pregnant or breastfeeding

    9. Neurological disorders, such as diabetic neuropathy

    10. Inflammatory skin diseases

    11. Skin conditions caused by immune system disorders, such as eczema or psoriasis

Doctors can use CoolSlimming to help you kill fat cells in areas of your body such as:

  •                     Below the chin and jawline
  •                     Thighs
  •                     Belly
  •                     Back and sides
  •                     Under the buttocks
  •                     Along the bra line
  •                     Upper arm
  •                     Calf

Research has shown that CoolSlimming is safe and effective. There are few risks. There is no damage to your liver. The side effects are also mild and disappear in a short time. On average, it reduces fat mass in targeted areas by 10%-25%.

This course of treatment can be done in a doctor’s office or outpatient clinic. Assess the size and shape of the fatty deposits and outline the area to be treated with a skin marker pencil. The patient remained awake during the procedure. A handheld device called an applicator is used to freeze the layer of fat cells (fat cells) under the skin. First, apply a gel pad to the area to protect the skin. Next, the fat bump is sucked or sucked into the cavity of the applicator. You will feel a pulling sensation when the suction is applied. These sensations, the intense cold, and other possible sensations such as tingling, pain, and cramping, lessen after 5 to 10 minutes as the area becomes numb during the cooling process. The fat layer gradually cools to a target temperature between 30.2 and 39.2 degrees Fahrenheit. It takes up to an hour to treat an area. After treating the area, remove the applicator. Massage the area for 2 to 3 minutes to help break down fat cells. Patients do not need sedation or anesthesia before undergoing surgery. A single course of treatment can treat multiple body parts. Most people can return to normal daily activities immediately after treatment. The procedure can be performed on people of all ages. There is no damage to nerve fibers, blood vessels, muscles in the treated area, and damaged or destroyed fat cells are permanently removed from the body.

The technique is based on the discovery that fat cells are more susceptible to low temperature damage than other cells, such as skin cells. Cold temperatures can damage fat cells. The damage triggers an inflammatory response in the body, which leads to the death of fat cells. Macrophages are white blood cells that are part of the body’s immune system and are “summoned to the site of injury” to remove dead fat cells and debris from the body.

Studies have shown an average fat loss of 15% to 28% about 4 months after initial treatment. However, you may start to notice changes as early as 3 weeks after treatment. Significant improvement after about 2 months. Risk of irregular/unsmooth skin surface after healing. It may take more than one course of treatment to achieve a person’s desired results. If more than one treatment is required, the next treatment should not be given until 6 to 8 weeks after the first treatment. This is because it can take a long time to clear damaged fat cells from the body. Results were not immediately apparent. Because fat cells are gradually removed from the body, it may take 3 to 6 months for optimal results. A rare side effect that can occur is paradoxical lipodysplasia. In this rare case, fat cells increase in size after CoolSlimming. Men and Hispanics are more likely to experience it. You may gain weight after CoolSlimming. Fat may be deposited in other parts of the body, but the probability of this is 1 in 100.

Temporary side effects in the treated area may include:

  • Pain or pain
  • Skin irritation or tingling
  • Redness
  • Swelling
  • Skin discoloration or bruising
  • Sensitive or numb skin

Side effects may last from days to weeks after treatment. Your doctor may recommend that you take pain relievers to relieve pain or other discomfort.
